ABOUT PAUL TOPPING

Born in Ontario, Canada – Paul moved to California as a young boy and this is where he began his love for art out of high school when he began taking his talent and passion for art into a commercial business. Interestingly, not on canvas but that of custom paint on cars, vans and motorcycles. His unique style was fueled by the iconic generation of Southern California custom rods and vehicles. 

This would go onto last until the 1990’s then eventually changed to a more modernistic art on canvas. Then in the early 2000’s, Paul would transition to all mediums of color to canvas. His creativity of the past now would find itself deeply engrained in a modern style that would transcend anything ever accomplished before.

Paul would now take his style to the next level, creating majestically layered pieces that now define the artist with his contemporaries. Paul then started doing the majority of paintings on a commissioned basis. Most pieces will never see the commercial market with the exception of the famous “Artist Series” featured on the award winning wine labels by his brother’s label – Topping & Legnon Wines. 

Paul currently resides in Colorado Springs, CO where he continues to create unique pieces of art for the serious enthusiasts.
